SDG goals no. 1, 2, 4 and 5


To address the SDG goals no. 1, 2, 4 and 5 a seminar on Islamic Banking was organized by Director Students Affairs and the department of Islamic Studies on 15-Mar-23 at Govt. College Women University Faisalabad under the kind leadership of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq and in collaboration of State Bank of Pakistan and the Bank Al-Falah. Mr. Asif Malik, Registrar, GCWUF welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts of the organizers to promote such informative sessions. The program began with the question/answer session and was significant in spreading the awareness of Islamic Banking. The Shari???ah scholars from Alfalah Bank Islamic , Mr. Mufti Usama Ehsan and Mr. Mufti Aqeel Akhtar were the resource persons of the event who enlightened the students with their precious knowledge, he said that the concept of savings and intermediaries is common in our daily life like bank. As Islam prohibited Riba (interest), Islamic banking introduces Halal mode of financing without interest in all methods i.e. Musharka, Mudarbah, Murahbah, Istasta and particularly in Sukuk. Mr. Imran manzoor, Area manager Alfalah Bank Islamic, Ms. Zaira Bano Tung, Branch Manager Alfalah Bank Islamic, Mr. Muhammad Aqeel and Ms Iqra Khalid from SBP also graced the event with their presence. The souvenirs were distributed among all the guests.
